Breast augmentation (silicone implants)
The small size of breasts is not only due to inherited factors. It is common after breast-feeding that the glands of breasts suffer atrophy, the breasts become drooping and the volume of glands is not enough to form a nice shape. Implanting silicone prosthesis can solve the problem.
A considerable increase in the size of breasts is possible through breast implants. The full range of implants is available at our clinic. An important task at the visit before surgery is to select the exact type, shape and size of the implant. Patients can choose from smooth or textured implants filled with liquid silicone, silicone-gel or saline solution. Nowadays implants filled with cohesive gel are considered to be the best. It is proven that implants cannot cause breast cancer or autoimmune illness (contrary to media news). It looks and feels perfectly natural.
Implanting prosthesis can be performed under the glandular tissues or the pectoral muscles. Glandular tissues will not be damaged by surgery; it has hardly any effect on them. In most cases breast-feeding is possible after implanting breast prosthesis.
Patients have the option to decide on the place of the small incision. In most cases an incision of 4-5 cm is hidden in the submammary line. Moreover, surgery can be performed through an incision on the nipple or through the axillary region as well.
Implanting prosthesis is performed under general anesthesia. A one-day observation at the Clinic is usually required after surgery.
