Obesity effecting a small area outside the abdominal wall can usually be corrected through liposuction. But a big “beer belly” and drooping bellies cannot effectively be treated by liposuction.
The correction of excess skin in case of considerable obesity or drooping belly and loose muscles is only possible through major plastic surgery. Surgery is planned individually, according to different types.
Surgery always entails a permanent scar that can often be hidden in the bikini line. An observation of 1-2 days may be required after surgery that is performed under general anesthesia. To regain physical condition, usually a resting or healing period of two weeks is necessary.
